Ironwood Kitchen & Coffee opened its doors in the spring of 2019 with a simple belief: that the best food comes from knowing the people who grow it. We're tucked into a corner of Third Street in downtown McMinnville — close enough to the Saturday Market that our farmers can walk the produce over before it opens — and we've been trying to earn our place in this community ever since.
The café was founded by Clara and Marcus Webb, siblings who grew up on their parents' small hobby farm in Carlton and spent their childhoods in the orbit of the Willamette Valley's growing food culture. Clara trained as a cook in Portland, working in farm-to-table kitchens for nearly a decade before coming home. Marcus spent those same years in hospitality, learning that the front of the house is really about making people feel like they belong somewhere.
When they opened Ironwood, the goal wasn't to build a destination restaurant. It was to build a neighborhood spot — the kind of place where you know the baristas by name and the menu changes because of what showed up from the farm that week, not because a trend said so. The name comes from the ironwood trees that grow along the creek at the edge of their family's property. Tough, native, quietly beautiful. That felt right.
Today we work directly with over a dozen farms and producers within a thirty-mile radius. Our eggs come from Henderson Farm in Amity, our bread is baked fresh in-house each morning, and our coffee is sourced from a small roaster in Portland who shares our belief that origin matters. We're not trying to reinvent anything — we're just trying to do it honestly, with care, and with gratitude for the valley that makes it possible.
Co-Owner & Chef
Clara handles the kitchen with the same care she brings to every farmers market visit — everything has a story, and she wants you to taste it.
Co-Owner & Front of House
Marcus makes sure every person who walks through the door feels like they're coming home. He's the one who remembers your usual order after the second visit.
Head Barista
Priya has been pulling shots at Ironwood since day one and can tell you the origin story of every bean we carry. The cortado is hers.
We work directly with over a dozen farms within a 30-mile radius. You'll find the names of our producers on our seasonal specials board — because we think that matters.
Our menu changes with the season because that's what's honest. What grows here, in this valley, right now — that's what we cook. Not what the calendar says we should.
Ironwood is a neighborhood spot first. We host monthly community suppers, support local fundraisers, and believe that a good café makes the whole street a little better.
We're open every day and always glad to see new faces. Stop by for a coffee, or reach out with questions about events and catering.
